Greetings everyone.

I just returned home from a great concert held by my friend Fran Snyder. He came up with this new and great idea called Dinner and Song. It’s a wonderful concept of a show, right in your own living room.

In short, the idea is this:

If you know of a musician who is traveling through your area, you could host them on a week night. Invite 6 – 20 guests for dinner. We all gather around the table and enjoy a nice intimate dinner. It doesn’t have to be fancy. I mean.. we can order KFC.

Your friends would enjoy a dinner and a show with the artist. 35 minutes of dinner and 35 – 60 min of songs by the artist. Whatever fits your schedule.( at not much cost to you as a host ) The suggested donation is $10 – $15. I mean where can you have dinner and a show for that anywhere else? Not only does this make a great night to remember with your friends, but you are helping a traveling musician survive on the road. This PDF free download explains more.

If you would like to have us Dalziels for a night of Dinner and Song, Here are some dates and places we are looking to fill.

Sept 11 – 16 Central to North Florida

Sept 20 -23 South Central Florida

Sept 27 – 30 Central to South Florida

Oct 2 Central Florida

Oct 9, 12th and 13 North Central Florida

Oct 16, 18th – 20st North Florida / Southern GA

Nov 20 – 24th South East Florida, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale. Would be advertised on WLRN

Dec 1st – 8th, South W Georgia, East Alabama, Eastern TN.

April 9 – 13, South and North Carolina, North GA

Late June, Ohio, NC, Virginia.

I love this idea and I hope you see the potential of lasting memories from this night of fun.

Email me

I’m so excited about this!!!

Thank you in advanced and might I add.. You can do this!

Yes it’s been a while since I’ve sat down and composed a newsletter. I’m not sure if it has been a year since my last update and I do apologize. When we decided to move to Florida, we hit the ground at full speed and haven’t really slowed down. We’ve met so many wonderful new friends and mucisians and there are new doors opening. Not everything this past year has been easy as Scott lost his Mother to cancer on May 4th and I lost my Aunt to on my Birthday last year. Needless to say we’ve had some hard months but those are the times that make us stronger as a family and as musical partners.

We’ve had some great opportunities also. We’ve played some great venues and met some great new friends who have blessed our lives. Some venues include.

Palm Lodge House Concerts, Homestead Fl
Wil McClean Folk Festival
European Street Cafe, Jacksonville, Fl
Friends of Florida Folk events in New Port Richie and Eustis Fl
Labyrinth Cafe, Ft. Lauderdale
Full Moon Concert Series, Floral City
Joe Prine Concerts, Lakeland
Bay Street Theater, Eustis
Brick City Art Gallery and Concert Series.
Windy Hill Concerts.

and more.

We have some exciting events coming up too including some tours to Wisconsin, Iowa and St. Louis in late Summer and Tennessee next Spring. We’ll keep you posted on those as I confirm dates and times.

Like I said earlier, we’ve met some great friends who have blessed our lives as well as inspire us. I’m not sure if it’s fate or happenstance but God has brought us Scott and Val Jackson. They came to a show of ours and we connected some how. Kind of an instant kindred spirit. Scott is a Dentist by trade ( and an excellent one at that ) but we’ve adopted him to be our Music Manager. His first bold move was to introduce us to Bruce Swedien ( Michael Jackson’s long time engineer) Since our first introduction, We’ve recorded three songs, including one we wrote about Michael called “Timeless’. He invited us to be featured musicians for sampling vocal recording techniques for his ” In the Studio with Bruce Swedien Retreats, which included key note speaker Ed Cherney ( Bonnie Raitt’s Engineer ). In that session, we started a demonstration and a recording session broke out and we ended up with a new recording of “Imperfection”.
Bruce has talked about us to Hal Leonard Publishing, Full Sail College, and Major Labels. Yes we are not certain of where this is headed and it may not lead anywhere. Are we a little nervous, yes but, we are having the time of our lives. Bruce and Bea have become dear friends beyond the music and that is priceless. Needless to say, our new manager Scott, is quite successful and we give all credit and our gratitude for his hard work and friendship.

We are taking a hard look at our music and what we really want to do with our lives. We aren’t getting any younger but we still have dreams that haven’t died. Our dream? Just play music and tour nationwide. Concentrate on our craft without interruption. We have the validation of some heavy hitters in the music business so with that, we are not giving up, nor are we going to settle. Having said that, we are gonna hunker down, relearn some older material as well as write some new songs, work on our 2012 tour schedule and try to finish a new acoustic R and B CD with Bruce. . We have nothing holding us back but making sure our finances are covered. I know you believe in us or you wouldn’t have signed up for our newsletters. : ) If you see that we are coming to a town near you or even to your state, help us by hosting a house concert for us, or be part of our street team by letting people know. Heck.. be the first person to host a show for us in your state. Here are some frequently asked questions about house concerts. Your friends and neighbors will think you’re the bomb and we would be forever grateful to you for helping us on our journey.

Thank you so much for your continued support and not giving up on us.
